A Sculptural Landmark That Defines the City’s First Impression

Project Context:

The client had a clear ambition for the project:

“When people travel to this city,

we want this hotel to be the first place they think of staying.”

The installation was inspired by the city’s signature flower,

reinterpreted as a transparent sculptural tree —

transforming a familiar symbol into a contemporary spatial landmark.

The goal was not just to decorate the lobby,

but to create a strong visual identity that connects the hotel to the city itself.

After installation, the piece became a defining feature of the space —

a memorable landmark that guests associate with the hotel,

and a reason many choose to stay here when visiting the city.

Key Challenges:
- Creating a natural tree form using rigid transparent materials
- Achieving smooth organic branching without visible joints
- Maintaining high optical clarity across complex shapes
- Integrating decorative elements without affecting structure
- Ensuring stability for a freestanding installation in a public space

---

Our Approach:
We developed a custom solution using Synthetic Crystal combined with precision forming and assembly techniques.

- Designed internal support structure for stability
- Developed branching system to simulate natural growth form
- Optimized material thickness for clarity and strength
- Integrated decorative elements into the structure design
- Planned modular fabrication for transport and installation

---

Execution:
- Custom fabrication of synthetic crystal branches and trunk components
- Heat forming and manual shaping for organic geometry
- Precision bonding and polishing for seamless appearance
- Pre-assembly testing before site installation
- On-site installation with structural alignment adjustments

---

Result:
- Highly realistic transparent tree form achieved
- Seamless visual effect with minimal visible connection points
- Strong visual centerpiece within the lobby space
- Stable structure suitable for long-term public use
- Enhanced spatial identity and guest experience
